Rogers, Christopher, Brad and Glen have decided to go their separate ways and have begun forming new projects.

Rogers has been working with singer/songwriter Rene Lopez in New York. Rene's is an accomplished musician who has performed solo at many H. O. R. D. E. Festival dates over the past two years and attended the New School in New York City. The pair have recorded 15 songs and currently putting together a band.

Christopher and Brad have joined forces with Dave Krusen (played drums on the first Pearl Jam record) and newcomer Chris Shin and formed a new band called "Luma." The band has recorded 14 songs and have begun to play out regionally in

their home base of Seattle. Glen Graham, currently residing in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, has been busy writing songs and working on various recording projects with other artists.

The band is back together. They've been in Seatle for the past 2 months writting and recording with Brad Singing. It is sounding Great and they will be writting more in December.


FULFLEJ HEADLINES COLUMBUS, MS CONCERT IN TRIBUTE TO BLIND MELON

Over 900 people attend benefit, raising $2500 for Nico Blue Hoon's future


Bands from throughout the south, including Scratchie Records' Fulflej, recently organized a musical Blind Melon celebration entitled "Tones of Home" in honor of Melon's recently released final album, Nico (Capitol). The event, which drew a crowd of over 900 (nearly 10% of the population of Columbus) to the Princess Theatre in the hometown of 2 of Blind Melon's surviving members (Rogers Stevens - guitar, Brad Smith - bass, Glen Graham - drums), was named after one of Blind Melon's many hit songs. The benefit raised $2500 for the educational fund of Nico Blue Hoon, daughter of the late Blind Melon singer, Shannon Hoon.

The event was headlined byFulflej (Richmond, VA), the first signing by Chicago's Scratchie Record's, Which is co-owned by James Iha and D'arcy from the Smashing Pumpkins and Adam Schlesinger of Ivy and Fountains of Wayne. "We are great fans of Blind Melon's music," says Fulflej drummer Maff-you Nillsun, "and feeling very saddened by the circumstances behind Shannon's death, we wantewd to give something in return." Some of the other performers taking the opportunity to thank Blind Melon for their influence and inspiration were, Blastman, Grounded Pilots, Mud Foot, Quenton's Bridge, Steve, and Royal Company Scam (Austin, TX).

Blind Melon is best known for its self-titled debut, which has achieved triple-platinum status. Their recent final offering, Nico,which features Shannon Hoon's vocals, is an enhanced CD featuring video, interviews, lyricsand photographs and has been praised by critics as "Blind Melon's finest colection." (MTV Online) A portion of the album's proceeds are being donated by the band to Musician's Assistance Program (MAP), which helps musicians and others in the music industry recover from drug and alcohol addiction.
